One can partner with APAC project by complementing its effort in preventing the epidemic and caring for those affected and infected by HIV/AIDS in Tamil Nadu. Corporate, Industries, Philanthropic individuals and donor agencies can come forward to support any of the following components of APAC’s HIV/AIDS prevention and care programs in Tamil Nadu:

Care for Orphan and Vulnerable Children (OVC)

Orphan and Vulnerable Children includes those children who are infected with HIV/AIDS through their parent/s; children who are HIV negative but living with HIV positive parent/s; and children who are HIV positive or HIV negative but have lost their parents to HIV. These children have special needs such as nutrition support, medicines for opportunistic infections and support for their education. Companies, philanthropic individuals and donors can choose to support these children.

It would cost about Rs. 800 per month to provide nutrition, medicines and educational support for one child.

Contribution towards building a corpus fund for OVC Trust

APAC intends to establish a Trust for the Orphan and Vulnerable Children which would take care of the welfare of the children who are infected and affected by HIV/AIDS the APAC’s Intensive Intervention District. Companies, philanthropic individuals and donors can choose to contribute a lump some of amount towards building a corpus fund for the OVC Trust as one time contribution.

Opportunistic Infection (OI) drugs for People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLHA)

People Living with HIV/AIDS are prone for opportunistic infections due to their low immune system. They need drugs to treat opportunistic infection which APAC provides through its Home Based Care package for the PLHA.

It would cost about Rs. 400 per month for providing OI drugs for one person living with HIV/AIDS.

Nutritional Support for People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLHA)

People Living with HIV/AIDS need extra nutrition to build their diminishing immune system, especially those who are on Anti Retroviral Treatment (ART). Extra nutrition support is essential for the PLHA to withstand any opportunistic infections and undergo Anti Retroviral Treatment.

It would cost about Rs. 1,000 per month to provide nutritional support to one person living with HIV/AIDS.

STI drugs for the target population in the APAC intervention areas

A minimum package of services for the target population in the APAC intervention areas will be delivered from drop-in-centers. One of the services that will be delivered in a drop-in-center for the target population would be treatment for Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI) by a part time doctor.

It would cost about Rs. 1,600 per month to support one drop-in-center for procuring drugs for treating sexually transmitted infections.
